Voice Chat Data

Audio Data
Voice communication in Voice Chat is handled with strict privacy:
- Voice calls are transmitted peer-to-peer using WebRTC technology — audio streams are not routed through or stored on our servers
- We do not record, store, or monitor voice conversations
- Audio data exists only during the live call and is not retained afterward
- Microphone access requires explicit browser permission that you can revoke at any time
Matching Data
To connect you with conversation partners, we process:
- Your selected English proficiency level (CEFR-based)
- Topics of interest you optionally select before joining
- Online status and queue position (temporary, not stored)
- This matching data is used in real-time only and is not stored permanently
Personal Information
Voice Chat requires the following personal information:
- Date of birth — required once for age verification (users must be 13+), stored permanently and cannot be changed
- Gender — collected once for matching purposes, stored permanently and cannot be changed
- Display name and profile picture are visible to your conversation partner during calls
In-Call Text Messages
Text messages sent during voice calls are handled as follows:
- Messages are transmitted in real-time and exist only for the duration of the call
- Messages are not stored on our servers after the call ends
- Message content is not monitored or analyzed unless a report is submitted
